Hunter Engineering Company
From 1990 through 1993, Carl Cherko employed as a Senior Project Engineer provided Pro/ENGINEER MCAD and design efforts, testing and manufacturing support for this manufacturer of automotive service equipment. "Cradle to grave" support was provided for the development and manufacture of a brake rotor and drum refinishing lathe for use in the automotive service industry (Midas, PepBoys, Dobbs, etc.) starting with paper drafting and traditional mechanical design methods and then transitioning to 3D MCAD methods using Pro/ENGINEER. In addition to developing a Hunter-branded bench mounted brake lathe for refinishing rotors and drums removed from a vehicle, development efforts were provided for a Hunter-branded portable brake lathe that mounts directly to the rotor mounted on a vehicle.

SunEdison (continued)
Several additional projects were expedited at SunEdison (as MEMC) that resulted in eight patents being granted to Carl Cherko as either a sole inventor, principal inventor or co-inventor. Copies of these patents in PDF file format can be found on the PATENTS page for this web site. These projects included the design, development and implementation in manufacturing for single/dual upper heater assemblies used on a crystal growing furnace, several designs of electrode and cooling water feed-through assemblies for use with these upper heater assemblies, and several designs for higher capacity and more reliable silicon seeds, seed chucks and pull cables for use during the silicon crystal growing process on a silicon crystal growing furnace. Besides providing conceptual and developmental design engineering support for these projects, testing and manufacturing support was also provided both at the SunEdison headquarters site in St. Peters, Missouri, and at the SunEdison site in Cheonan, Korea.
